Event Description Robert “Boomer” Moore is Assistant Professor of Ceramics at WVU. He was born in Fargo, North Dakota, and received his BA from Montana State University, Bozeman, Montana, in 1995. Moore received his MFA from Utah State University in 1999 and then held the position of Studio Coordinator and Instructor for nine years at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
Moore joined the faculty at West Virginia University in 2008. He is a fellow of the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, Montana, and Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts, Newcastle, Maine. He has presented numerous workshops at schools and institutions across the nation. Moore’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, in such venues as NCECA Clay National 2003, American Shino 2002, and The Fletcher Challenge 1998. His work can be viewed in many publications such as, The Ceramic Design Book, The Ceramic Glaze Handbook, and Claytimes Magazine. In 2004 he was awarded an Ohio Arts Council – Individual Artist Grant.
