Bears and Blankets Alumni Chapter Service Project

As part of this year's Homecoming celebration, the WVU Alumni Association would like to start a new tradition - collecting donations of Bears and Blankets for children undergoing treatment at WVU Medicine's Children's Hospital. This tradition will be in support of the Child Life Program.  

The WVU Alumni Lone Star Chapter, based in Houston, Texas, began this program several years ago and we would like everyone to get involved! 

Members participate by purchasing a new (with tag still attached) stuffed bear and/or blanket. Please note that beanie babies cannot be accepted. Our goal is to present the Bears and Blankets on Friday, Oct. 18, to WVU Children's Hospital/Child Like Program staff.

If someone from your local chapter is driving to the homecoming game, Oct. 19, we will have a collection point in the Erickson Alumni Center for them to leave the donation. If no one is traveling to Morgantown, or they cannot bring the bears/blankets in person, we have created a monetary donation process and will purchase bears and blankets in Morgantown.
