The hope is that we will have cross-group discussion and learning, and a place to get practice at science communication, particularly public speaking. we want to encourage students and postdocs to use this seminar series as an opportunity to disseminate their work in front of a friendly, expert audience. Primarily, we encourage senior students and postdocs to present their own work (prep for conferences and defense talks), and new students can also present their own work and/or do a journal-club style presentation.
