Bio: Xiaodan Hu is a Research Associate at the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity at The Ohio State University. With a focus on implicit racial and ethnic bias, Xiaodan explores the manifestation and interventions of implicit bias across a range of domains, including health care, criminal justice, and education. She is the lead author of a freshly re-envisioned series of the State of the Science: Implicit Bias Review, an extensive annual publication that synthesizes a broad range of scholarly literature on how unconscious racial associations can influence human decision-making and outcomes. Xiaodan received her MA from Indiana University, Bloomington, and her PhD from The Ohio State University, both in Communication with an emphasis on cognition, emotion, and information seeking.
