Thanks to the new IGDA West Virginia Chapter, WVU’s game dev club, and our growing game design community- West Virginia has its own site in Morgantown this year as part of Global Game Jam! The goal with a "game jam" is to come together and make a videogame, or a non-digital (analog) game like a board game or card game. All types of play are welcomed. Participants rapidly prototype game designs and inject new ideas to help inspire and grow the global game industry. We share a common theme, which will be announced on our opening day,  and constraints. We ask participants to create a game from beginning to end in a prescribed time. The brief time span is meant to help encourage creative thinking which results in small but innovative and experimental games, some of which have been developed beyond the jam into a commercial success. Interested in participating? You can join us in person or online this year. Sign up here https://globalgamejam.org/jam-sites/2024/west-virginia-university and we’ll see you on Facebook live or at the Media Innovation Center at Evansdale Crossing (4th floor) on Monday, January 22 at 5:00 pm! Contact heather.cole@mail.wvu.edu for more information.
