The History Graduate Student Conference is sponsored by the WVU History Department and the Senator Rush D. Holt Endowment.

Identity is a complex and dynamic concept that has played a crucial role in shaping human societies across time and space. This conference seeks to examine how identities have been constructed, negotiated, and contested throughout history.

The West Virginia University History Graduate Student Association (HGSA) invites scholars, both graduate and undergraduate alike, to explore the various ways in which individuals and communities have defined themselves and others, considering the impact of factors such as culture, religion, ethnicity, gender, class, nationality, and more.
