Michael is a 2013 graduate of the Dept. of Materials, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) in the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources. During his experience at WVU, Michael worked as a student worker within the Center for Alternative Fuels, Engines, and Emissions (CAFEE) where he gained real world experience of preparing and setting up test articles that adheres to 40 CFR §1065 emission testing criteria. Additionally, he participated in an internship with Halliburton where he rotated through 3 different departments, namely Downhole completion tools, Cement, and Fracking.

Upon completing his undergraduate studies, Michael enrolled in the MS degree, also in MMAE at WVU; his project involved internal combustion in-cylinder analysis for a variety of test articles ranging from Class 8 tractor to trailer engines and small military gensets respectively. During his MS program, Michael accepted a CO-OP rotation with Cummins Inc. located in Seymour, IN within the High Horsepower business unit (later turned into Power Systems).  

Michael is currently working at Cummins Inc as the group leader of the Current Product Combustion, Performance and Emissions team. He manages a small team tasked with supporting quality issues, plant production test troubleshooting, and emissions compliance audits respectively.

Outside of work, Michael loves to spend time with his wife, Cassi, and their three kids: Michael, Jacob, and Natalie. In his own time, he loves tackling projects around the house or in the garage. He has a passion for being active whether it is when running marathons or when playing in the local broomball rec league.
