Lunchtime Looks are short presentations and discussions led by speakers with a variety of interdisciplinary backgrounds, who offer unique perspectives on the Art Museum's exhibitions and collections.

Join the Curator of the Art Museum of West Virginia University, Robert Bridges, for a close look into the museum’s current exhibition, Blanche Lazzell: Encounters. Drawing from his research on Lazzell and from his experience curating this exhibition, Bridges will discuss the artwork of Blanche Lazzell during her time in artist colonies and her significance to both modern art and West Virginia.

In his twenty plus years at WVU Bridges has curated more than 75 exhibitions at the Art Museum of WVU and the Mesaros Gallery in the College of Creative Arts. He is co-editor of "Blanche Lazzell: The Life and Work of An American Modernist" (WVU Press, 2004). He received his MFA in printmaking at WVU and previously worked as a curator in the private sector in Chicago.

This is an in-person event. A recording will be posted to the Art Museum’s YouTube playlist in the days following the talk.
