Everyone at the LGBTQ+ Center is excited to host a Meet and Greet with author and podcaster Rae Garringer! Rae grew up on a sheep farm in southern West Virginia and has spent the last eleven years on a mission to connect rural and small-town LGBTQIA2S+ people to one another. Rae’s project is helping to fight the isolation we often experience, and to build rural queer communities despite geographical distance. Their new book, Country Queers: A Love Letter, is the culmination of this incredible work.

Rae will be at the LGBTQ+ Center from 1:00-2:00p.m. on Friday, October 25th for the first of three events. They are excited to share what they’ve learned during their travels through and outside of the mountain state.  No RSVP required, come as you are.
