Laura Sesack is a graduate of WVU Statler College of Engineering, earning her BS in Civil Engineering in 2010 and MS in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical) in 2011. Upon earning her MS, she moved to Tulsa, OK to work in the oil and gas industry. In 2016, she made her way back to Pittsburgh and has worked in the geotechnical world ever since. Laura is currently working for a St. Louis-based geotechnical specialty subcontractor, who installs deep foundations (drilled shafts, micropiles) as well as ground improvement (aggregate piers, rigid inclusions). As the Great Lakes Region Manager, she is responsible for ground improvement activity throughout PA, WV, OH, KY, IN, MI. Her current role is the perfect mix of consulting, engineering, and construction. Laura is actively involved with several industry organizations, including Pittsburgh’s ASCE Geotechnical Institute as treasurer, Women in Deep Foundations as a technical committee member, and Pittsburgh’s Society for Marketing Professional Services as special events chair. She also volunteers with the Junior League of Pittsburgh and is the Vice President of Growth & Development.
