Save the Date for the annual Mesaros Endowed Lecturship symposium. This year it is Diagnostics in Temporomandibular Joint Examination, from anatomy to current management concepts.

Upon the completion of the symposium, participants should be able to 

  • Describe the Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) anatomy.
  • Diagnose internal structures which are visualized on a TMJ Magnetic Resonance Imaging – MRI, recognizing anatomical alterations present inside the TMJ.
  • Recognize the multifactorial aspects of TMJ diseases and clearly categorize each one of them.
  • Identify clinical signs and symptoms when Temporomandibular Joint disorders (TMJD) are present.
  • Comprehend the causes that can lead to TMJ dysfunctions and correlate them with Dentistry, learning how to treat insipient and enduring cases.
  • Refer patients suffering from TMJ diseases to specialists in the TMJ field.


This lecture-based program is recommended for WVU School of Dentistry Faculty, Graduate Program Residents, 3rd & 4th Year Dental and Dental Hygiene students, Practicing Dentists, Dental hygienists, and Rural Health preceptor faculty. (Students and Faculty with clinical responsibilities-- AM ONLY)
