Nicholas County 4-H Overnight Camp is held at the Nicholas County Veterans Memorial Park in Summersville. Camp staff and Teen Leaders arrive on Sunday to prepare camp for the week and all other campers and remaining camp staff arrive on Monday afternoon. Everyone stays until Friday evening and throughout the week participates in tribal activities, sports, swimming, assemblies, and let us not forget Council Circle!!!!
This year's camp theme is "4-H Radio". There will be daily themes of 'Billboard Top 100', 'Shuffle', 'Classic', 'Alternative', and of course '4-H Songs". Come prepared with your favorite playlist, instruments, and throat lozenges!
The camp fee is $85. There is an early-bird registration discount of $5 if your registration is received on or before May 20th. If youth had a 4-H project at the Nicholas County Fair in 2022 and received a Blue Ribbon, the premium of $3 will be applied to the camp fee and if they participated in the Volunteer Service Day on May 6th, they have a credit that will also be applied to the camp fee.
Scholarships are available for youth who qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch. This is a separate qualification from the county schools' Free and Reduce Lunch. The Summer Food Service application found in the Waiver section of this camp registration will need to be completed and returned the Extension office.
An additional scholarship is available for youth who have Aetna Better Health and or CHIP.
After we receive your camp registration, we will review it and send you your final camp cost, confirmation of classes and cabin, and a welcome letter with camp rules, a packing list, and other important information.
