The Passing of the Rifle Ceremony is set for April 26 at 5:00 p.m. in the Mountainlair Vandalia Lounge for a reception and at 6:00 p.m. for the program in the Joseph Gluck Theatre. The event will highlight the official passing of the rifle and Mountaineer responsibilities from Mikel Hager, the 2023 Mountaineer, to Braden Adkins, the 2024 Mountaineer. Featured guest moderators will be Steven Treadway and Colson Glover. Featured guest speakers will be former Mountaineer Mascots, Brady Campbell (2006-07 Mountaineer), Jonathan Kimble (2012-13 Mountaineer), and Colson Glover (2020-21 Mountaineer). Hager and Adkins will also give remarks regarding the Mountaineer Mascot position. The event is free and open to the public.
