346 Chestnut Ridge Camp Road, Bruceton Mills, WV 26525
http://physics.wvu.eduThe Department of Physics and Astronomy will gather on Saturday, September 7 from 11:30am to 4:00pm at Chestnut Ridge Park's Red Maple Pavilion for our Annual Physics and Astronomy Fall Picnic. Please RSVP by September 4.
About the Park & Picnic | CRP offers friendly hiking/walking trails and CRSF offers a significantly larger range of exercise and hiking/adventure opportunities. CRP, and its playground and small lake, is a great place for families to play and relax, for active people to stroll, play volleyball, soccer, or softball, and for faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students to get to know each other. Please come prepared to exercise a bit and to interact informally. We would appreciate everyone informing all undergraduate physics majors (and potential majors) about the picnic.
Directions | To get to the park, take Interstate Highway 68 east until you get to the Coopers Rock State Forest exit (Exit 15) which is one exit east of Cheat Lake and the Cheat Lake exit 10. At the end of the Coopers Rock State Forest (CRSF) exit, turn LEFT (the direction opposite to that going to the CRSF Overlook) to cross, from south to north, over Interstate 68. Within 200 meters, at the T-intersection’s stop sign, turn right and drive for approximately 1/2 mile until you see a sign on the left (and on the right) for Chestnut Ridge Park. Turn left at the sign and follow the road for approximately 1.5 miles, passing a couple CRSF buildings along the way. Turn left, that takes you slightly downhill, at the entrance to the park and follow the main park road, past Harris Lake, until you come to a covered pavilion on the left with a volleyball court next to the pavilion (Red Maple Pavilion).
