Ever wanted to make ice cream using liquid nitrogen, or see how massive objects warp the fabric of space? You don’t want to miss Physics and Astronomy Demo Day!  This event will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM on the Ground Floor of White Hall. All ages are welcome to attend!

A wide variety of physics and astronomy demonstrations will be presented and explained to visitors. Several of the demos are interactive and include topics like spacetime and gravity, gravitational waves, angular momentum, electricity and magnetism, and many more. There will also be a station to make ice cream using liquid nitrogen! The event is hosted by the WVU Department of Physics and Astronomy and the WVU Physics and Astronomy Graduate Student Organization (PAGSO).

Information about the event will be shared to the Department’s website: physics.wvu.edu/demo-day.
