In April 2024, WVU will undergo a comprehensive evaluation by the Higher Learning Commission to ensure it is meeting the criteria for accreditation. This Year 10 reaffirmation of accreditation will include the submission and review of a full report from WVU demonstrating compliance with the five criteria, a federal compliance review for Title IV support eligibility, a student opinion survey, and an on-site peer review visit.

Throughout the 2023 calendar year, the WVU Office of the Provost will host a series of presentations and discussions, “Preparing for Accreditation 2024,” focused on each of the HLC’s criteria for accreditation.

WVU faculty and staff are encouraged to engage in the process through these interactive events. By learning about the re-affirmation process and each of the criterion for accreditation, faculty and staff will be able to identify where they are able to contribute to the self-study and provide supporting evidence to highlight work being done in each area.

The first event is a virtual Zoom webinar:

In-person events will be help on March 3, April 14, September 1, October 6, and November 3; each will focus on one of the five HLC accreditation criteria. A final campus review of the self-study will be offered as a virtual Zoom webinar on January 19, 2024.

Details for the upcoming events will be added to the Provost’s Office website and shared in ENEWS and through other communication platforms as dates approach.
