The School of Social Work is hosting a service opportunity for all students to help increase voter participation. This is made possible by Vote Forward, a 501(c)3 nonpartisan group who has demonstrated success in increasing voter turnout through letter-writing campaigns that include your own personal stories and nonpartisan messages. This service activity involves writing 5 letters per week for 4 weeks in October, plus attending the kick-off Zoom meeting on October 2. All materials will be provided to students free of charge, and you can participate online or in person!

The kick-off meeting will be held next week, October 2 3-3:30pm via Zoom. We will discuss how voting is a vital part of social work, including educating from UConn’s Voting is Social Work materials and more broadly how voting helps our democracy stay strong and empowers communities with whom social workers practice.

We hope you’ll join us in this service opportunity. Sign up at this link! If you have questions, please contact Dr. Gandy.
