The West Virginia University Institute of Technology ASCE Student Chapter would like to invite you to the 59th Annual Fall Technical Conference to be held on Thursday, November 16th starting at 9 AM.  The conference will take place in the first-floor auditorium of the Administration and Extension Building at 410 Neville St in Beckley.

 

Professional Development Hours

 

The conference will include six (6) hours of professional development hours (PDHs).  Presentations include (subject to change):

 

  • Collaborative Partnerships Promote Rural Transportation Resilience: A Case Study of the 2016 West Virginia Floods - Kase Poling, Assistant Professor at WVU Tech Construction Management
  • One- and Two-Dimensional Hydraulic Modeling - Ian Webster, PE, Project Engineer at Whitman, Requardt & Associate, Charleston, WV
  • Concrete Dam Case Studies - David Sullivan, PE, Acting Director DSMS/Acting Chief, Management Support Division at the Huntington Army Corps of Engineers
  • FHWA Vulnerable Road User Assessment for West Virginia - Kendra Schenk, PE, PTOE, RSP at Burgess & Niple, Columbus, OH
  • Parkersburg Memorial Toll Bridge Rehabilitation - William White, III, PE, and Jordan Beals, PE, Project Engineers at Modjeski & Masters, Charleston, WV
  • Restoration of Take-In Creek: A Look at an Abandoned Mine Lands Reclamation Project - Brian Knight with The Thasher Group, Beckley, WV

The ASCE Student Chapter will supply PDH certificates for those attending the full conference.  The certificate should satisfy six (6) professional development hours though the WV State Board of Registration and Professional Engineers has the final approval of all PDHs used for professional license renewal.

 

Registration

 

Pre-conference registration will be through the WVU Marketplace website using credit/debit card.  We will also have a computer available for on-site registration.  Check payment will be collected on-site.  The conference fee structure is:

 

  • Regular Conference (non-ASCE member) - $150
  • ASCE Member - $120
  • Government Employee or Retiree - $100
  • Students and WV DOT personnel - free
  • College/University Faculty - free
  • Presenter - free

Refund/Cancellation Policy

 

Full refunds will be available prior to November 8.  Past November 8, your conference fee is transferable to another person but non-refundable.  If you wish to transfer your conference fee or request a refund, please notify us by email (brian.dickman@mail.wvu.edu or hoyang@mail.wvu.edu).  Transfers prior to November 8 will also be permitted.
